About Our Music School

Togher Music School is located in Togher Community Centre. TMS was established in 2003 to
accommodate the growing need for musical training in Cork. Thanks to the ongoing support of Togher
Community Association, we have grown to more than 400 students and 20 staff members.

Aim

It is our aim to provide professional tuition in a relaxed environment. One that aids our student’s to realise
their full potential as a musician. Our students can avail of expert tuition in both one to one and group
settings. All teachers and staff strive to make a difference to every students musical development and
success.

Our Students

We aim to cater for all interested persons wishing to learn music. There are no limits on age or ability.
We also have several teachers trained to tutor students with learning difficulties and disabilities.

Exam Opportunities

TMS offers all students the opportunity to partake in formal exam’s with recognised boards, according to
their chosen instrument. The examining boards include Trinity Guildhall London, Associated Board,
Royal Irish Academy and Rock School. These exams are not compulsory.

Performance Opportunities

Each student has the opportunity to perform in our public concerts held in the centre throughout the year.
In addition to this, we strive to provide outside opportunities including live radio performances on local
radio station Life fm (93.3fm), Cork City Library exhibitions, Feis Mathieu Cork, Rock School showcase
gigs and local parish events.

Performing Groups

There are several performing groups currently running within TMS. Including TMS Choir, Rock School
Bands, Guitar Ensembles and Brass ensembles.
